Serving Christ in Those Most in Need
Blessed Are They provides support and resources to vulnerable populations, particularly those experiencing food insecurity and homelessness. The main program of the organization is “Coats for the Homeless” which distributes a medium-duty winter coat to those living on the streets.
Coats are distributed by members of the Order of Malta Federal Association USA, Oklahoma City region and at least fifteen other locations across the United States. The Coats were initially designed with input from those experiencing homelessness and include ¾ length, Velcro closures, elastic waist and wrist closures, inner pockets, water resistance and other features useful to those living on the streets.
While a very difficult population to count accurately, the Homeless Alliance of Oklahoma City estimates between 4,732 and 5,915 people experience homelessness in Oklahoma City every year. The Coats for the Homeless program seeks to provide a direct and meaningful benefit to the homeless population not only in Oklahoma City, but also in the broader metropolitan area.

We know we need to teach our children to speak, to read, to ride a bike, or drive a car. As we strive to help our children become saints, we also need to teach them how to pray. That's why the Order of Malta, Oklahoma City Region created this book, Essential Prayers for Children, a tool for families to use to pray with their children.
Essential Prayers for Children
“It is literally freezing cold outside and the coats will help those folks stay warm and hopefully ease a little of their suffering; [that] is our goal.”
— Peter de Keraty, Order of Malta Oklahoma City
